    The challenge

In spring 2022 a whole country watched the war on its phones, around the clock. It felt like staying informed; for many it was quietly wearing down their health and their will to act.

    The solution

A mother sinks into the news while the day goes on around her, her daughter included. Her face carries what the feed does inside a person; fragments of war footage pour in around her and the sound builds to a cacophony. Count the hours, and be a resource rather than a consumer.

    Execution

A film of our own, made with Stepline, the agency that came before film.partners: written, lit and shot by the team, with custom music and sound design and animated graphics tracked into the shot in front of the heroine. English and Ukrainian versions, April to May 2022.
